Ik zou graag iets over mijzelf willen vertellen. Ik ben Tjarda Potijk en ik ben 20 jaar oud. Ik woon in Albergen, dat is een dorp in het oosten van Nederland met ongeveer 3.500 inwoners. In februari 2016 ben ik begonnen met de PABO opleiding op het Saxion. Wanneer ik in Zuid-Afrika aankom, zit ik in het vierde jaar van mijn studie. Ik ben erg benieuwd naar de verschillen en overeenkomsten tussen de scholen in Nederland en de scholen in Kaapstad. Doormiddel van dit project kan ik de verschillen en overeenkomsten zelf ervaren.

I’d like to tell you something about myself. My name is Tjarda Potijk and I’m 20 years old. I live in Albergen, that’s a small village in the east of Holland with about 3.500 inhabitants. In February 2016 I started the study Pabo at Saxion. By the time I come to South-Africa, I’m in the final year of the study.  I’m curious about the differences and similarities between schools in Holland and schools in South-Africa. With this project I can experience the differences and similarities by myself.

Ik ben Lisa Meems en ik ben 20 jaar oud. Ik kom uit Enschede en ik woon er nog steeds. Op dit moment zit ik in mijn derde jaar van de PABO. Ik zie er naar uit om te starten met mijn baan als basisschoolleerkracht, maar hiervoor wil ik graag nog één internationale onderwijservaring opdoen. Ik ben super benieuwd naar de verschillen en overeenkomsten tussen de scholen in Nederland en de scholen in Kaapstad. Met dit project willen we de kinderen in Kaapstad stimuleren en motiveren om op school te blijven. Daarnaast willen we graag de drempel verlagen tussen de kinderen in Kaapstad en de kinderen in Nederland, we willen interculture grenzen stapje bij stapje laten verdwijnen, aangezien we allemaal wereldburgers zijn.

I would like to introduce myself too. My name is Lisa Meems and i'm 20 years old. I was born in the city of Enschede and I still live there. I'm currently in my third year of this study to become a primary school teacher, and I'm still very much enjoying it. The best thing about this study is that we get to do an internship every period. I'm also looking forward to see the differences and similarities with education in South Africa. With this project we like to stimulate and motivate the children in Cape Town to stay in school. We want to make it easier for children to meet other children from different cultures. We want to make intercultural borders slowly dissapear, as we are all global citizens.

Ik ben Tess Koster en ik ben 19 jaar oud. Ik woon in een klein dorpje in Nederland, genaamd Enter. Ik vind het erg leuk om in Enter te wonen. Verder wil ik altijd al een basisschool leerkracht worden. Dat is dan ook de reden dat ik deze opleiding ben gestart op het Saxion. Ook ik zit in het derde jaar van deze opleiding. En tot nu toe vind ik het nog steeds erg leuk! Wel heb ik behoefte aan een nieuwe uitdaging op het gebied van onderwijs. Daarom wil ik graag dit project gebruiken als een nieuwe uitdaging. Het belangrijkste doel van dit project is om kinderen bewust te maken van hun leven hier in Nederland en het leven van de kinderen in Kaapstad. Wij hopen hierdoor de kinderen te stimuleren in Nederland om te genieten van hun eigen leven en het helpen van andere mensen als dat nodig is.

I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Tess Koster and I'm 19 years old. I live in a small village in the Netherlands. It's called Enter. I really like living in Enter. Furthermore I always wanted to be a teacher. That's the reason why I started this study at Saxion. Also I am in my third year of this study to become a primary school teacher. So far, I've really enjoyed the study! But I needed a new challenge in the field of education. I like this project to be my new challenge. The main goal of this project is that we like to make the children in the Netherlands aware of the lives they have and the lives of children in Cape Town. We hope to stimulate the children in the Netherlands to enjoy their lives and help other people if that's necessary.
